Foosball

November 3rd, 2006 by desmond5552

Foosball… a game or should i say sport where u get to socialize and have fun at the same time. Please refer to wikipedia or foosball.com.my to know more bout foosball in case you are not sure what is it.

The first time i ever played foosball was with my father, the outdoor of Komtar Dome around aged 6 years old (should be around there, still remember being slightly plum, short hair and i barely able to see the table LOL). Of course I could not care less about it… come on, aged 6? Things just come and go! After stages of development, back in form 4, my sister actually encouraged me to play foosball, saying that it is fun and challenging. Again, I did not really bother, and actually commented, what a bloody game is this and how u define FUN in the first place. Shots after shots, tips after tips, I tend to enjoy the game better and actually got hooked to it. Lasted me few months and I stepped out of the foosball craze due to lack of friends who enjoy it, and I do not even know where people play foosball. For what I know, I played at a cyber cafe in Bukit Jambul called FPS, a T-2 table i guess.

Not long ago, there was a sudden craze in Gurney’s Red Spot Foosball section where alot of players gathered and play together. AGAIN, I did not really give a flying duck for I was into snooker till this murtad went like ‘Desmond, start back playing foosball la, gather the kaki and play together!’. You should know who you are you lembu lori! He managed to convince me in playing back foosball. Skills were average I would say, cukup makan la among amateurs LOL. Interest was still in playing snooker, so casually I would drop by and play a couple of games, that is about it.

Few months later, I was dragged along by Imran to a newly opened cafe called TL Cafe to see the foosball scene. He told me there was this event called DYP and I went like ‘Wei bodoh, how would I know what is that?’ All he said was ‘Shudup and play la, random partners’. Of course i hesitated, knowing my skills were way off and my signature move was, the fast pull that never hits the ball. LOL. Not a bad day after all, partnered Sunny and got 1st, was lucky on that day!

Current moment, foosball has been taken seriously. Every Friday at TL Cafe and Saturday at CQZ there will be a DYP event which is also known as Draw Your Players. New people, new players, new friends, new styles were all part of the package of the event. Observing Sean’s meriam buluh pull-shot, Ah Hwai’s magnificent 7, Raymond’s psycho; accuracy ‘you are stupid’ signature insult, Andy’s fast pace & front pin shots never bores you. Those were just a few of the veteran players seen at the scene. Sounds fun? Feel free to spectate and enjoy the ambience.

DYP really made me train back foosball. Spending loads of hours hogging the table to train passings and shootings… all the squats and crawlings under the foosball table as forfeit for losing… the smell of the rod in INTI and REDSPOT which will remain although u soap-ed it like 10 times… finally paid off. Finally able to have ‘ball contact’ instead of the old pull shots where i hardly have ball contact. There are simply so many types of ways to score, Snake, Pull-Shot, Kick-Push/Pull, Front Pin, Back Pin, so called ‘fresh meat’ shot made by foosers a.k.a. gamers, Rolling Pulls, Tick-Tack and many more. It is never a boring game. Every player would have their own style and attitude.

There is just too much to say about foosball, and honestly, MORE GIRLS should play foosball, it is not a game catered to males only FYI! *Not saying this because it gets boring when all you see is just ‘rods’, ‘batangs’, ‘balls’ and ‘hole’. Put on your thinking cap and you wil know what I am trying to say here. LOL. So, for those who feels like paying a visit, please support the local foosball scene at:

TL Cafe ( located beside Peng Hwa ) on Friday Night @ 8.00 p.m.

CQZ ( located beside Korea Cyber Cafe ) on Saturday Night @ 9.00 p.m.

Streamyx: Part 2

July 21st, 2006 by desmond5552

Recently, a friend of mine lodged a complain to STREAMYX due to the greatness of 1mbps connection. He was suffering from severe transfer rate of 5kb - 10kb ( hardly reached that by the way ), which is similiar to my last blog. And guess what, this guy took things abit more serious cause he was too frustrated. I’ll paste his complain report right here.

Pasted Report :

To whom it may concern,

As the title above, i would like to file a complaint against TMNET STREAMYX for giving a bad service throughout the entire existence with unreliable download speed as well as poor connection especially traffic on overseas websites.

Another important point is that i would definitely consider a law suit for giving false information and/or streamyx package not up to par with the original contract of service. This definitely disappoint me as an avid Internet user, having the steady and proper bandwidth are very important as money can be made ONLINE!

I insist for an explanation for the bad service that TMNET STREAMYX  has been giving to the public. Consider this as a warning as i would take the necessary actions to bring this to the court of justice.

Unsatisfied customer,
Ungku Mohd Iskandar

What I’m trying to say is, we should all deserve what we paid for. For those who are suffering the same situation, PLEASE KINDLY start taking actions. Do not let people take things for granted.

Streamyx… Give Us Back Our Kbs!

June 4th, 2006 by desmond5552

Upon reading Gin’s Blog regarding this issue, I would love to share my experience about how wonderful TMNet Streamyx is. Before I start, Gin, issues regarding MSN Messanger and Friendster services, I do not think Streamyx is to be blamed. Certain versions of MSN Messanger seems to have incompatible issues, few of my friends uses a certain version and suffers illegal operation, frequent disconnects and so on, might be a glitch on the script, no idea, mine works jus fine, MSN Messanger 7.5. What Rayvin (whoever he is) commented on the Friendster issue is true. There are just too many users log in at the same time and too many activities.

Ok, back to the topic, our national’s 1st very own super fast ADSL connection, the STREAMYX. By paying RM88, we are entitled to download up to 99kb/s (differs depending on location downloaded, server bandwidth and so on). I’m not sure about others, but I’ve been experiencing UBER SLOW download rates on p2p programs. I suspect that Streamyx has been playing around to restrict fast download rates from p2p. I concluded the most logical reason would be, enormous downloaded movies / animes / videos which adds up to god knows how much and this consumes the area’s total bandwidth, therefore in order to stop this unfortunate event (Streamyx), consumers are ripped off. What is the point of having 1mb connectivity if we are restricted from p2p? As if we going to use 1mb to read www.TheStar.com.my ? or maybe www.bluehyppo.com.my ? This is jus plain stupid.

In Streamyx main website, it has a picture of some retard saying "Download mp3s in seconds!" Look, one moment we are threatened from using p2p due to piracy and copyright issues. I’m downloading 2k - 10k per second for mp3s in p2p programs which is ridiculous, and yes I’m aware it depends on the amount of users sharing but I’m still not having fast download speed. Why securing p2p programs such as Kazaa / Kazaa Lite++ / Limewire / Napster and so on. We paid for it, let us enjoy what we paid for. Consumer’s rights! Don’t expect us to pay a high price for a shitty service. Thats bull. So, guys out there, if you so happen to experience

If there is anybody with good suggestions on how to bypass this horrible event conducted by Streamyx, please help out. So far I’ve tried playing around with the ports for my p2p programs. At times, which seldom happens, I’m able to get a very good speed but only if I get like double or triple the users compared to last time. I hope Streamyx would stop doing this and give us back what we used to enjoy.

Penangfon, what a waste it is for selected condominiums and apartments only. Leaving out the other 2/3 of Penang residents to rot. I will support Penangfon if I am able to subscribe it which is cheaper and faster. Even if it has the same issues such as limited bandwidth on certain events, it is ok, because it is much cheaper compared to Streamyx. Streamyx, time for a change.

Bowling… The Past , Present and The Future

March 4th, 2006 by desmond5552

It has been years since i left bowling. All de memories of throwing the ball, hooking it into the 1-3 pocket that gives a Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound of a boom due to the amount of weight and speed of my lovely 8 years old Zone Red Alert ball which causes the pins to fly all over the place. Yes, the feeling is great and it is time to live back those moments. When i was in high school, i would normally walk to the bowlin centres such us Top Bowl or BJ Bowl with my neighbours like Tzelic ( Clitoris Chong ) and Ming Yu ( nicknamed preferred to be kept privately, haha ) It all started when i was 6 years old, right after i got my UPSR results i was so bloody happy cause i had straight A’s *haha not anymore*. As far as i remember, friends that were with me was Kanagerajan, Harris, Farhan, Eddy and few more. We decided to go bowling the next few days i think. Haha. When we got there we were very excited, we always wanted to know how this sport works. My first game i think i got 40-50 pins in total. LOL.

I found out both my parents were bowlers. So my dad would take me out for some bowling sessions and guiding me in my noob style of bowling. As days, weeks and months passed by, i got better and decided to be serious in this sport. Got myself a bowling ball and a bag. Man i thought the price for my bowling ball (RM7++) was expensive but its still having the same price till now, for good ones.
Back in PFS, position of President of PFS Bowling Club was jus passed down among us friends. How often do u see 3 neighbours, all in Penang Bowling Team and all three were presidents of the club. So it started with Chong Tzelic then me and lastly Ming Yu. Ming Yu was a better bowler, left hander hook players are also nicknamed, natural born hookers haha due to natural talents. Hooker is a just a term used among bowlers for hook bowlers (Hook - where the ball will rotate and curve in a certain axis to form almost a fish hook shape)

Now, i’m still using back that ancient bowling ball which has lost its reactivity… so it means i got to maximise my finger tip power to lift the ball to give maximum impact. Just spent Rm145 to redrill my ball and adjusting slightly to my finger span. I just hope to be able to enter some minor competitions and own it just for the sake of my testimonial in the future. So to any people out there who loves bowling, please send me a message. I’m glad cause i have a bowling partner who is nicknamed Xvalour ( Jon / Parasite Arm ) We share alot of laughters and giving ridiculous bets over our scores and frames. GEEEEEEE GGG.

PS : To those from PFS year 84, please send me a message, would be great to update on your whereabouts.

The Truth About WoW

March 4th, 2006 by desmond5552

WoW, i can say is quite a good and well balanced game which requires good coordinatino with ur mouse control and brains. Idiots, please avoid this game cause u will have big time problem during level 60 raids. For each time u do that u need to spend at least 4-5 hours, if u are good at it. Or else… GEEEEE GGG!
Today would be my last day of WoW for my account has expired. Thanks to Hooi Keong for helping me waste 12 days played time which is about 288 hours and i got that amount in about 3 weeks which is a total of more than 8 hours a day. Man… time flies. Despite all those, i met few real life friends in WoW such as Syen (Raena) and Jon (Xvalour) who is at Stormscale server. Also meeting back some old friends such as Wen (Redrum) , Jon (Babyash) and Guan (Azhalarna). Glad to meet u guys again! I was once in KL meeting guild members of ‘MEN’ Quite shocking cause they can spend more than 4 hours talking bout WoW such as raids, who caused the wipes ( a term used when whole team is dead ) and many more. Its fun to hear :) if u know wat they are talking bout or else ur going to be jus another lost soul. Oh yah for u guys out there who is new, if u ever want to be a priest for the alliance, get dwarf priest for its uber ( super ) fear ward but be ready to fast among the ugliest most horrible looking character in WoW.

I will end this chapter of WoW and u will never ever hear me talking bout WoW anymore… maybe brag a lil on how uber my Shadow Priest is. Haha.

WOW is a feeling

January 15th, 2006 by desmond5552

WOW may not be a new game but it is sure a hit, one thing amazed me bout this game is that it has alot of cool ‘emotes’ such as wave, roar, cry, chicken, sleep and so on which makes the game more realistic compared to the rest * of course please excuse the magical effects of Harry Porter * It may cost a bomb, like $15 a month, but jus picturing yourself spending RM2 a day, for 30 days, u get RM60 in total, so its cheaper than any other things. Sentence taken by Tak Hooi Keong *Rhhsk* He was the one who bugged me into tryin out this game. I still prefer the old Warcraft 3 : The Frozen Throne which requires more ‘micro’ and ‘macro’ compared to WOW thats jus blasting away and bit of timing, maybe when im level 60 things will change. I wasted hundreds of ringgit jus to get myself a new 3d card with 256 mb jus to play this game, or else i would have sticked to my uber 64mb graphics card which never failed me when i play Warcraft 3. Currently playing dwarf priest which really takes a shit load of time to level up in Stormscale server. Care to join guys? :) I would say it has beautiful graphics, nice lighting effects but it lags like a bitch. That’s life. Alot of parents play this game with their children, do not be surprised! It is common. So i suggest if you are quite free and a homely guy, do get yourself a copy of WOW and be an addict like the rest. No turning back.
